not feeling so tempting today...

Hello everyone and welcome to Tempt My Tummy Tuesday. My sister, Lisa, and I co-host this blog carnival. We share recipes, kitchen and cooking tips, restaurant reviews, and anything food related that you want to share. You know the rule of a blog carnival, please mention the blog or TMTT in your post and link back to us. Don't forget to use Mr. Linky, He lives at Lisa's Blog. PLEASE DO NOT HOST YOUR OWN Tempt My Tummy Tuesday with Mr. Linky. Thank You.

Well I haven't felt very much like posting recipes lately... I am PREGNANT!! It is great news but I am really suffering with Morning- All day sickness. So the last few weeks, I just have not been in the mood at all to post anything about food. In fact the worst of it hits right around 4pm when I am thinking about what we are going to have for dinner.

So my question to you is... what did you do to help with the nausea of pregnancy? Does anyone have a great suggestion? I know everyone has differnt experinces when it comes to pregnancy, so I'd love to hear from you and what worked and did not work for you.

I am finding that I feel a lot older than my first pregnancy. It has only been 6 years since I was last pregnant, but it feels A LOT longer than that and my body feels much older.

So, please keep me in your prayers! I hope that after my first trimester I'll feel more like talking about food and recipes...

Well, congratulations on the preg. but sorry about the morning/all day sickness. I had it with all three of mine. I have no idea why the call it morning sickness, because it was all day. :) The only thing that helped me was snacks and if I could keep them down, high protein ones. I ate peanuts, cheese, etc. Salty things seemed to work a little with me too, but in general nothing worked well. :)Sorry, and I hope you feel better soon.

Maybe we are getting a boy, since you were not sick last time, with K? I know, an OB nurse should not be buying into the old wives tales. But you never know.
Anyway, sorry you are yucky! Hope you get some good ideas.

Congrats on the pregnancy - I have no tips I was very lucky I didn't have morning sickness, just food aversions - couldn't stand the smell of a lot of foods

Congratulations! I say fix supper at your LEAST sick time of the day (if there is one!) and have your hubby and daughter heat it up when they are hungry. Keep it simple. No one is expecting fancy meals for a while. :)

How exciting--congrats on your pregnancy! Sorry, no tips here, I've never had morning sickness before. The only problem I had was I couldn't stand meat of any kind...4 years later, I still have a hard time!

Congratulations! Keep the crackers close. Small frequent meals ought to help you a lot right now :)

Here's a weird one, that sometimes actually WORKS, especially when the air is crisp.

Eat cheese...outside.

Told you it was weird.

God bless your pregnancy!

Congrats on the baby news!! Stopping by here for the first time :-)

I gave birth a long time ago so I don't really have great advice.. mine would be to eat saltine cracker, ginger ale, and let someone else do the cooking or ordering in...LOL!!

Congratulations! Sorry about the sickness. What helped me this time around was protein snacks, eating just a little at a time. Also, when it came time to cook/eat, keep some peppermint essential oil nearby to inhale. Sniff, eat, sniff, sniff, eat. Also soda water with lemon helps me.
I also took fresh air breaks while cooking dinner. :)

congrats on the pregnancy! My nausea went away when I ate what I felt like eating (pb on a tortilla mostly) and when I chewed gum. Anything seltzer made it worse, so ginger ale was awful! Hang in there, this too shall pass! :)

My morning sickness usually happened when I allowed myself to get hungry. So, I'm with the others who said, eat a little all day long. Keep snacks on hand to nibble. And absolutely, as much as possible, let someone else do the cooking or heating up.

This may be a season when you need to be less frugal and more practical. Do what you need to in order to take care of you.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I never had morning sickness with my daughter, but I did with this pregnancy! From about 6 weeks to 16 weeks, I was constantly sick!

I tried a few home remedies - ginger soda, constantly sucking on Jolly Ranchers. While some of these things helped a little, nothing really relieved my symptoms.

My doctor finally prescribed Zofran, and it was like magic! 15 minutes after I took the first pill, I felt like myself again. I took it for a few weeks before the nausea went away on its own.

I still have a ton of food aversions, so dinnertime is hard for me too!

I hope you're feeling better soon!

I know exactly how you feel. I was sick with all 3 of mine (psst, they are boys, don't tell Lisa though) from the time I got up until I went to bed. I'm sorry I never really found any great help. Saltines, and tea helped a little. There is some medicine out, although I never took it. And I really don't know what is out currently, as my youngest is 12.
Hang in there girl! This to shall pass! :)

I wish I had some tried and true tips....sorry. I never had morning-sickness (thank the Lord.) I will pray that you feel better.

I DO suffer from motion sickness. I wear the wristbands....I hear it could be good for morning sickness...as well as ginger and lemon drops.

Hope you find something.

Hello, my first visit here! When I was preg w/ my third it was the worst sickness ever. I took zofran, but that didn't do much. Instead, i would drink rooibos tea. It's all natural, no caffeine, and tons of antioxidants. Its an amazong tummy soother - worked better than the prescription! hope this helps!
