a little politics

I don't usually get political in this here blog... but this is just nutty.

Last week during the DNC I kept thinking, what is McCain going to do? Who is he possibly going to pick? I realized that he was going to probably appear to be "outside the box" so when I heard Palin, I was all... who? What? What the hey?

So, I began the research, because THAT IS WHAT WE SHOULD ALL BE DOING. Research and not relying on gossip and rumor and CNN, FOX and MSNBC to tell us what they want us to know. I now understand why he picked her, but I don't think the woman factor is going to work on Hillary voters at all, if that was even a thought and I truly think it was. Honestly, for those voters, I am sure they are a little insulted. BUT I understood the super conservative thing as a balance to McCain, but NOW
the news of her daughter.... hmmm it truly makes me wonder what the ultra conservatives think now.

They are thinking, Sometimes these things happen. They will stand by their child and love her, her new husband, and her new baby... just as tho it was planned.

We do not throw our Children away if they make a mistake....

I think her pregnancy is another indicator of how pro-life this family is, including Palin's own Down's baby.

The "ultra's" didn't seem to care that Dick Cheney's daughter is gay, so I doubt they'll care about Palin's daughter either. Even if they DO care, it's still a matter of "the lesser of two evils."

lemme re-phrase...

I think her not aborting her pregnancy is another indicator of how pro-life this family is...

I was not trying to indicate that I thought that since her daughter was pregnant she should be tossed out. In fact, I think it actually may make some take a second look at her and think again about her.

I always worry that there will be a huge backlash from the really right wing religious crazies who will condemn her and her pregnant daughter... I am not one of those...

Thanks for the feedback, it is always good to hear and I love to hear what others are thinking

I totally understand about those crazies. Tim and I roll our eyes when we hear about a crazy group (like the ones who protest at soldiers' funerals), because it makes all followers of Christ look nuts!

For my two cents, I wish it were Palin who was at the top of the ticket! I love that a) she is a woman who b) shares my most important values (not all, however) and c) fought corruption in the Alaskan Reppublican party and d) has more executive experience than the three other candidates combined. =)
